SPECIALS MAKE STAR SIGNING
PRUDHOE Town Women’s Football Club has received a helping hand from a local pharmaceutical company as the long football season gets underway.
Low Prudhoe-based unlicensed medicines manufacturer The Specials Laboratory is sponsoring one of the team’s star midfielders in a bid to support the club through the tough current climate.
The award-winning specialist manufacturing company is sponsoring Helen McManus as its player of the year and with the season barely underway, Helen has already bagged seven goals including a hat-trick.
Jan Armstrong, marketing manager at The Specials Laboratory, said: “We have always been very active in supporting local community projects and our relationship with Prudhoe Town Women’s Football Club is no different.
“We wish our star player Helen and all the ladies at the club the best for the season ahead and hope they can pick-up some silverware along the way.”
Established in 1999, The Specials Laboratory is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of unlicensed medicines – known as ‘specials’ – which are bespoke-made for individual patients.
With around 135 staff, the firm also makes veterinary specials, investigational medicinal products for hospital-based clinical trials and supplies custom over labelled medicines and special obtain items all from its three MHRA-licensed sites.
