A special story
Our Special Lab began life with just three staff members in July 1999 and was originally situated in premises at The Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne. However, as a result of business growth the company relocated to its premises at the Low Prudhoe Industrial Estate in Northumberland in 2001.
Over the years, our company has continued to provide quality products within unrivalled leadtimes, leading to a satisfied and loyal customer base, which has resulted in continued growth and a significant increase in staff numbers.
In that time, we've also received some notable (and very kind) external recognition.

Today, we operate from three separate sites on the same estate with plans for further expansion. We have around 135 employees ensuring we have the resources to maintain our market-leading levels of customer service - our aim is always to deliver 100% of our unlicensed medicines and over labelled medicines within 24 hours of the order being placed. In recent years, we have also utilised our proud manufacturing heritage to provide hospitals with an IMP manufacturing service to meet the needs of NHS-based clinical trials.
